Frequently Asked Questions
All of our puzzles are designed and manufactured in Perthshire, Scotland. We have control over every aspect of the production process, allowing us to maintain a high quality product. Our puzzles are high quality, robust and attractive, and the pieces fit together well, for a satisfying puzzling experience.
Our forme – the cutting tool that stamps the puzzle from the cardboard sandwich – was hand made to our specifications. It creates interesting and varied shapes for all of the pieces.
Wherever possible, we use recycled and sustainable materials.
Jigsaiz jigsaw puzzles combine crafting skills with European manufacturing expertise to deliver a unique, novel and quirky personalised gift for any occasion.
Far from it! When you order a Jigsaiz puzzle, we’ll create it especially for you. Your chosen name, message or photo will be added with care and attention to detail – there is nothing “automatic” about our process. Where necessary, adaptations can be made to the design to make sure every element fits – ideal where your chosen recipient has a long (or short) name!
No! The idea is that the message and picture should emerge for the recipient as they make the jigsaw! That way, it’ll be a complete surprise. We’ve designed the puzzles to be easy to make, with lots of clues to help (see “are the jigsaws hard to do?” below). But, if you do feel your recipient needs a picture to help, just drop us a note ([email protected]), and we’ll happily send a PDF of the puzzle on to you. There is no charge for this service.
It’s 13.5cm by 18.5cm, sometimes portrait, sometimes landscape, depending on the design you choose. It’s about the size of a traditional greeting card or a large postcard – slightly smaller than A5.
No! There are only 35 pieces, and each piece is about 2.5cm by 2.5cm. We’ve also included lots of clues to help identify how the pieces go together. In a lot of the puzzles, for example, there’s background text in very faint letters covering the whole jigsaw, which lets you know which way up the pieces go. There are also lots of picture and colour clues, and the pieces are different shapes, which helps as well! All of the jigsaws are tried and tested, to make sure that they can be completed relatively easily.
The jigsaws are not aimed at small children, but are designed to be suitable for young people and adults.
A younger child would definitely need adult assistance/supervision.
The puzzles are not suitable at all for children under 36 months.
We normally ship the jigsaw 1-2 working days after receipt of the order (or receipt of the order and photo, where a photo is required).
If there is likely to be any short-term variation from this at any point (e.g. at holiday times), we’ll provide information on the website.
All of our puzzles are dispatched using Royal Mail first class post. We make a small charge of £1.00 per item towards postage and packing, unless the item is in a sale.
It’s a small box, about 10cm square with an attractive wrapper that can be customised to your precise requirements. It’s made of recycled cardboard and fits large first class postage.
