In an earlier post, I wrote about the extent to which AI is having an impact on graphic design, and now the world more widely. Much of the press coverage is about the truly malevolent impact of deep fakes on the individuals concerned, but there is another side of AI use. It can actually be fun, and allow you to create things that would otherwise be either impossible, or beyond one’s limited graphic design talent!

One of our puzzles which sold incredibly well at Christmas was an AI-generated image of a Highland Cow wearing a Santa hat. Yes, yes, I know… Anyway, this got me thinking about other things that might prove to be fun and I came up with the idea of Westie, or a West Highland Terrier to non-Scots, as if he or she had been painted by Vincent van Gogh ,

Please, please, please don’t take this in the least seriously. This is a jigsaw puzzle, not an assault on the art world!!

I thought this was quite cute … Anyway, the next attempt was a heilan coo in an art deco style, then a Van Gogh style, then returing to westies, what if Charles Rennie Mackintosh …

At the end of the day, as I said previously there is no real substitute for talent! That said, there is nothing wrong with having a bit of fun and maybe, along the way, raising a smile on someone’s birthday!

As Miranda would have said … “Such fun!!”
