Sometimes the strangest things can spark a new design. We recently moved into a new house, and, as part of this, we have a “hedgehog highway”, essentially, holes in our fences at appropriate points to allow our little spiny friends unfettered passage through our garden. I googled “hedgehog highway”, and one of the articles used vector illustrations of hedgehogs marching happily on their way. I though, “lucky hedgehogs!”

I happened to mention this to my fellow jigsaw obsessive and she said “is that a thing, you know, lucky hedgehogs?” Needless to say, I had no idea, but google did. Seems that in some cultures, far from being lucky, hedgehogs are considered unlucky. That’s not right, we said in unison. We need to redress the balance and so, in the blink of a graphics tablet, “Lucky Hedgehog” was born. Well, our spiny friend has made a grand debut on our webite pages in the guise of a “Good Luck in Your Exams” puzzle. We wish him or her well!
